Volleyball Recap: Jurupa Valley Triumphs

Jurupa Valley won the last time they faced Ayala and things went their way on Friday too. The Jurupa Valley Jaguars walked away with a 3-1 win over the Ayala Bulldogs. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Jaguars.

Jurupa Valley had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-18, 25-20, 25-23.

Rosendo Contreras paced Jurupa Valley's offense, picking up 12 kills. Contreras got some help from Andreas Barboza and his 37 assists. Barboza was also solid from the service line: he led the team with six aces.

Jurupa Valley now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Ayala, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.
