Baseball Recap: Eustis Takes a Loss

Eustis was the 6-0 winner over Leesburg when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Panthers fell just short of the Yellow Jackets by a score of 6-5 on Friday. The Panthers' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Andrew Walker made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Jacob Lucroy, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Eustis' record is now 12-9. As for Leesburg, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-14.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eustis will venture away from home to take on Key West at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Leesburg, they will head out to face off against Mount Dora at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Hurricanes' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Yellow Jackets' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
