Baseball Recap: Bowie Comes Up Short

Bowie was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Westlake Chaparrals. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Bulldogs have suffered since March 8th.

Bowie's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Westlake, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-2-1 record this season.

Bowie and Westlake should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Bulldogs will challenge Akins at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (258 vs. 980). Meanwhile, Westlake (ranked 15th) will meet Anderson (ranked 330th) at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
