It was a good run, but West Monona unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 62-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ar-We-Va Rockets. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 280th, while the Rockets are ranked 139th).

West Monona's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Ar-We-Va, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-3.

West Monona wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 72-61 win against Westwood on the 30th. Ar-We-Va has also already played their next matchup, a 100-72 loss against Woodbine on the 31st.
