Baseball Recap: Oakland Comes Up Short

Oakland lost against Franklin County back in April of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Patriots fell just short of the Rebels by a score of 5-4.

Asher Evans and Will Trammell stepped up to the plate in a big way. Evans went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Trammell went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that Trammell has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Andrew Carver, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Oakland's loss dropped their record down to 14-13-1. As for Franklin County, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-15 record this season.

Oakland will challenge Riverdale at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Franklin County, they will square off against Lawrence County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
