Basketball Recap: Waterville Piles Up the Points Against Oroville

Waterville came tearing into Saturday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 36.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Oroville Hornets 72-18. Given the Shockers' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 71st, while the Hornets are ranked 302nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Waterville is also on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season. As for Oroville, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Waterville will square off against Almira-Coulee-Hartline at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Oroville, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Pateros at 6:00 p.m. on February 4th.
