Football Game Preview: Garrett Railroaders vs. Angola Hornets

The Garrett Railroaders will venture away from home to take on the Angola Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Garrett will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Garrett is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They never let Lakeland get on the board and left with a 21-0 win.

One reason for the win was Garrett's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Aiden Hunt refused to say out of the backfield, picking up two sacks all by himself. Another thorn in Lakeland's side was Hunt, who picked up two sacks and made five total tackles.

Meanwhile, Angola won against Tippecanoe Valley two weeks ago with 21 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Hornets pulled ahead with a 21-20 photo finish over West Noble. The game was the first time the Hornets have beaten the Chargers on their field since September 10, 2021.

Garrett better keep an eye on Hawk Hasselman. He was instrumental in Angola's win, rushing for 148 yards and a pair of scores, while also picking up 51 receiving yards and one TD.

Angola now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Garrett, they now also have a winning record of 6-5.

Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Garrett has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 173.9 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Angola struggles in that department as they've been averaging 161.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.

Garrett couldn't quite finish off Angola in their previous matchup back in October and fell 14-11. Can the Railroaders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
