Basketball Recap: University School of Nashville Comes Up Short

University School of Nashville lost against The Webb School back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The University School of Nashville Tigers took a blow against The Webb School Feet, falling 63-14. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 328th, while the Feet are ranked 52nd).

Daria Biriuk was her usual excellent self, going 9 for 13 on her way to 25 points in addition to seven boards and four steals for The Webb School. With that strong performance, Biriuk is now averaging an impressive 15.3 points per game. Another player making a difference was Makynli Bacon, who posted nine points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.

University School of Nashville dropped their record down to 4-15 with the loss, which was their eighth straight at home. As for The Webb School, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 contests, which provided a massive bump to their 17-7 record this season.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the University School of Nashville Tigers take on the Grace Christian Academy Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. University School of Nashville is facing Grace Christian Academy at the right time seeing as Grace Christian Academy is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for The Webb School, they will square off against Franklin Road Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Franklin Road Academy comes in on three and The Webb School on eight.
