Basketball Recap: St. Edward Green Wave vs. Marian Central Catholic Hurricanes
The St. Edward Green Wave won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Thursday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 72-48 walloping at the hands of Marian Central Catholic. St. Edward was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-19.
Marian Central Catholic was led to victory by Ella Notaro and Madison Kenyon. Notaro scored 22 points along with five steals, while Kenyon dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. Abbey Miner was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with four steals.
St. Edward's loss dropped their record down to 14-12. As for Marian Central Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 19 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 24-4 record this season.
St. Edward will be playing at home against the Warriors at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Marian Central Catholic, they will take on the Fightin' Irish at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday. Bishop McNamara is looking to tack on another W to their eight-game streak on the road.
