Softball Recap: Keystone Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Keystone dropped their record down to 13-6 on Thursday, which also ended the team's seven-game streak of wins on the road. They fell 4-0 to the Brunswick Blue Devils. Considering the last time the Wildcats couldn't score was back in April, the team can't take the result too hard.

Keystone saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Armitage, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

As for Brunswick, they pushed their record up to 12-3 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games.

On Brunswick's side, not much got past Gabby Diligente, who gave up just five hits to keep Keystone off the board. Diligente has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ava Beas was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Compton, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Keystone will host Medina at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Battling Bees have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season. As for Brunswick, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Revere at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Minutemen have averaged an impressive 10.1 runs per game this season.
