Salisbury School came tearing into  Saturday's  matchup with seven straight wins  (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with  a   4-1  victory over the Frederick Gunn Highlanders. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won  9-1  on Wednesday.
 Matt Chirumbolo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a  run (which was  unearned)  on six hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks any time he's  pitched this season.
 At the plate,  Thomas O'Connell was  incredible,  going 2-for-4 with one  home run, three  RBI,  and one  double. That's the most  RBI  he has posted since back in April.  Nasir Stevenson also deserves some recognition as  he  hit his first  double of the season.
 Salisbury School  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Frederick Gunn struck out nine times.
Salisbury School pushed their record up to 15-3 with the  win, which was their eighth straight  at home. Those  home  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Frederick Gunn,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 4-12.
 We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Salisbury School is set to  challenge  their familiar foe Pomfret School  at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Frederick Gunn will  square off against  rival Cheshire Academy  at 2:30  p.m.  on Wednesday.
