Softball Game Preview: Portland Christian Eagles vs. Bullitt Central Cougars

Portland Christian has gone a perfect 7-0 against Bullitt Central recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Eagles will face off against the Cougars at 5:30 p.m. Portland Christian is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 14 games.

Portland Christian had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt North Hardin Christian on Monday. The Eagles put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 12-0 win. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 19 matches by six runs or more this season.

Addie Bragg was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games she's played. Vivian McFarland was another key player, earning one RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Bullitt Central came out on top against John Hardin on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run third inning. The Cougars walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Bulldogs. The game was the first time the Cougars have beaten the Bulldogs on their field since April 29, 2017.

Portland Christian's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-11. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.7 runs over those games. As for Bullitt Central, their record now sits at 8-16.

Portland Christian took their win against Bullitt Central in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 11-5 score. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
