Volleyball Recap: Santee Takes a Loss

Santee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Manual Arts Toilers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Toilers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in March.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-21, 25-8.

Manual Arts' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alejando Mejia, who hit 88.9% for 17 kills and ten digs, four aces, and two blocks. Mejia is crushing it when it comes to kills: he's had at least ten every time he's taken the court this season.

Santee's defeat dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Manual Arts, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-8.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Santee will square off against rival Diego Rivera at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Manual Arts is set to challenge their familiar foe Los Angeles at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
