Baseball Recap: Newport Takes a Loss

Newport was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 54th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Williamstown Demons, falling 16-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Demons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 on Wednesday.

Newport saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braxton Stacks, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.

Newport's loss dropped their record down to 0-29. As for Williamstown, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-8.

Coming up, Williamstown will square off against Gallatin County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Newport will be paying especially close attention to the Demons' contest: after the Demons face off against the Wildcats, they'll take on Newport again at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
