Basketball Recap: Green Piles Up the Points Against Clay

Green had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 28-point drubbing they dealt Clay on Monday. The Green Bobcats blew past the Clay Panthers, posting a 56-28 win. The Bobcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 20 points or more this season.

Leading Green to victory were Abbie Knapp and Matti Hayslip. Knapp dropped a double-double on 22 points and 16 rebounds, while Hayslip went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc on her way to 18 points and six assists. That makes it five consecutive games in which Knapp has scored at least a third of Green's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Abrams, who posted seven points.

Green pushed their record up to 13-1 with the victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 26.6 points. As for Clay, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-8.

Green didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 61-22 win against East on the 28th. As for Clay, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 56-33 defeat against Notre Dame on the 29th.
