Softball Recap: Oak Grove Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Oak Grove challenged Shelby County on Saturday. The Tigers fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 3-2. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Gracie 'Sassy' Renz was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

Oak Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 18-15. As for Shelby County, they have been performing well recently as they've won 14 of their last 17 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.

Oak Grove will take on Indian S at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Shelby County, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-6 win against Ranburne on the 18th.
