Preview: Oasis Sharks vs. Saint Stephen's Episcopal Falcons
Oasis has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on The Saint Stephen's Episcopal Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
After only seven points in their last game, Oasis made sure to put some points up on the board against Glades Day on Thursday. Oasis really took it to Glades Day for the full four quarters, racking up a 42-0 victory at home. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Oasis had established a 35 point advantage.
Frederick Harley jr. had a dynamite game for Oasis, rushing for 148 yards and three touchdowns on only six carries. Jonathan Perez was in the mix too, providing Oasis with two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Saint Stephen's Episcopal entered their tilt with Boca Raton Christian with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Saint Stephen's Episcopal breezed by Boca Raton Christian on the road to the tune of 56-13.
Evan Brown was his usual excellent self, throwing for 260 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 12.4 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 142 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries. Brown is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last four games he's played. James Haley also helped out as he racked up 110 receiving yards.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Boca Raton Christian to a paltry 221 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Saint Stephen's Episcopal's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out six times before it was all said and done. Boca Raton Christian's QB won't forget Jacob S clulow anytime soon given S clulow sacked him six times.
Their wins bumped Oasis to 6-3 and Saint Stephen's Episcopal to 7-2.
Oasis might still be hurting after the 29-7 loss they got from Saint Stephen's Episcopal in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can Oasis avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
