Monache is on a five-game streak of home wins, while Redwood is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Marauders will host the Rangers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Monache 2.1, Redwood 1.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
The home team had come away the winner the last five times Monache and El Diamante had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Marauders came out on top against the Miners by a score of 7-2 on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Marauders in their matchups with the Miners: they've now won three in a row.
Jaydin Sabol was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Devynn Emerson, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Monache lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in March of 2024.
Meanwhile, Redwood put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Porterville a 6-0 shutout. Considering the Rangers have won nine games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Porterville's batters probably weren't too happy with Reagan King, who pitched a no hitter and racked up eight Ks (she gave up zero walks). King has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kenzie Cantu, who fired off two home runs while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jaden Lopez, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI.
Redwood is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Monache, their victory bumped their record up to 12-4-1.
Both Monache and Redwood just can't seem to miss. The Marauders have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.9 hits per game. However, it's not like Redwood struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.1 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Monache came up short against Redwood in their previous matchup on April 8th, falling 3-0. Will the Marauders have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
