Yoncalla's Will Shaw recorded the longest rushing play in 1A Special District 5 (8 Man) this season in his game against Mohawk last week. Shaw's team topped the Indians as he sprinted for 70 yards on the play and finished with 106 in all.
Triangle Lake was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in the league. Earlier in the week, the Lakers triumphed over Siletz Valley 53-14.
Yoncalla's dynamic duo of Shaw and Geoff Payne proved tough for Mohawk to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Shaw threw for 190 yards and three touchdowns and Payne had 89 yards receiving. Jalen Walton helped Yoncalla's passing attack out by catching nine balls for 82 yards.
Logan Drullinger was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 16 carries, he ran for 183 yards as Crow topped Laric Cook's team. Teammate Tanner Eastlick added to the ground attack by rushing for 174 yards.
6-foot-2 quarterback Victor Vidal of McKenzie is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1889. He has also thrown 29 touchdowns. On the ground, the Cougars' Eastlick has rushed for 1053 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Walton. The Yoncalla star has 57 catches for 910 yards.
Lowell extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Eagles, 70-8. The victory was the eighth in a row for the team.
