Basketball Recap: Metropolitan Learning Center Comes Up Short on the Road Against CREC [Computer Science and Engineering/Academy]

Metropolitan Learning Center had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. The match between them and the CREC [Computer Science and Engineering/Academy] Eagles didn't end well, with the Metropolitan Learning Center Dragons falling 49-34. The Dragons just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row dating back to last season.

CREC [Computer Science and Engineering/Academy]'s victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Semaj Grier, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. Those 17 points gave Grier a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of De'Mya Barrett, who posted 12 points in addition to six steals and five assists.

CREC [Computer Science and Engineering/Academy]'s win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-1.

Coincidentally, Metropolitan Learning Center and CREC [Computer Science and Engineering/Academy] will both be playing Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy the next time they take the court. CREC [Computer Science and Engineering/Academy] will head out to face Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Metropolitan Learning Center will host them at 6:15 p.m. on January 10th.
