Volleyball Recap: Alton Comes Up Short on the Road Against Highland + How To Watch

Alton had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Highland Bulldogs by a score of 2-1. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it seven in a row.

Alton started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 25-27, 25-12, 25-10.

Rayna Raglin paced Alton's offense, picking up six kills. Raglin got some help from Gracie Milford and her ten assists. Olivia Certa controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Highland can attribute much of their success to Lucy Becker, who had 13 assists and five aces. Those five aces gave Becker a new career-high.

Alton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 win against Metro-East Lutheran on the 27th. Highland has also already played their next matchup (against Collinsville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
