Volleyball Recap: St. John's Comes Up Short

After flying high against Catholic Memorial on Monday, St. John came back down to earth. The Pioneers fell just short of the Boston College High Eagles by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. The Pioneers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

St. John's took Boston College High into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-15, 25-22, 23-25, 15-12.

The defeat snapped St. John's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-9 record. As for Boston College High, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. John's will venture away from home to face off against Chelmsford at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. The Lions will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Pioneers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Boston College High, they will take on Medfield at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
