It was a good run, but Corona unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Monday. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (20-18), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. They were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.
Despite the loss, Corona still got an impressive performance from Feli Solomua, who threw for 244 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.6 yards per attempt. A healthy portion of that aerial production (108 yards to be exact) went to Ava Liaga.
Corona's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged two passes before it was all said and done. The picks came courtesy of Kaelyn Bossenmeyer and Amy Arrellano.
Corona's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-5. As for Roosevelt, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-2.
Corona will face off against Dana Hills at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Roosevelt, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Canyon Springs at 7:00 p.m.
