Soccer Game Preview: Orange Lutheran vs. Mater Dei

The Orange Lutheran Lancers will head out on the road to square off against the Mater Dei Monarchs at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams each escaped with close wins against their previous opponents.

Orange Lutheran is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They never let Hart onto the board and left with a 1-0 win. Give the Lancers' defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Karis Buehler, who's now up to three this season.

Meanwhile, it may have taken extra minutes to finish the job, but Mater Dei ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They skirted past Canyon 3-2. That's two games straight that the Monarchs have won by just one goal.

Orange Lutheran has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Mater Dei, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-6.

Orange Lutheran took their win against Mater Dei when the teams last played on February 3rd by a conclusive 4-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Orange Lutheran since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
