West Point is 0-3 against Kellis since October of 2021 but things could change on Friday. The West Point Dragons will square off against the Kellis Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

West Point is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game last Friday. They fell 49-38 to Cibola. One positive for the Dragons, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Marcus Plott, who picked up 87 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Another back making a difference was Isaiah Smith, who rushed for 141 yards while picking up 7.8 yards per carry.

Even if they lost, West Point's defensive line still kept up the pressure with seven sacks. Cibola's QB won't forget Lilton Deville anytime soon given he sacked him four times. Deville has been hot recently, having also posted six or more total tackles the last three times he's played. Jesse Guzman was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, forcing two fumbles, and making ten total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, Kellis waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They claimed a resounding 61-0 victory over the Rattlers on the road. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by 21 points or more this season.

While passing duties were split, you can't argue with the impact Ronald Coty Iii and Sean Oser both made on the game. Coty Iii rushed for 43 yards and two touchdowns while Oser rushed for 76 yards and two touchdowns. Oser was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 68 yards. Jason Estrada made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Kellis was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 277 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 198 rushing yards in three consecutive matchups.

Kellis didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Estrada and Jaden Peters.

West Point's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Kellis, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

West Point might still be hurting after the 32-7 loss they got from Kellis when the teams last played back in September of 2023. Can West Point avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
