Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Charlee Groninger and Savannah Brock Lead Plainfield to Victory

Plainfield hadn't done well against Avon recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Quakers walked away with a 3-1 win over the Orioles. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Quakers.

The final score came out to 25-18, 24-26, 25-16, 25-19.

Plainfield was led to victory by Savannah Brock and Charlee Groninger. Brock had six digs and three aces, while Groninger hit 50% for seven kills and 47 assists and eight digs. Groninger is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 19 or more in each of the last 17 games she's played dating back to last season.

They weren't the only good server: Plainfield was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least ten aces in three consecutive games.

Despite the loss, Avon still got an impressive performance from Ashley Ahern, who had nine digs and one assist.

Plainfield's record now sits at 12-4. As for Avon, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-13.

Plainfield has already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Hamilton Southeastern on the 20th. As for Avon, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Franklin Central on the 18th.
