Softball Game Preview: Mt. Carmel Sundevils vs. Ramona Bulldogs

The Mt. Carmel Sundevils will venture away from home to square off against the Ramona Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mt. Carmel is coming into the match hot, having won their last seven games.

On Friday, Mt. Carmel beat Fallbrook 8-3.

The team relied heavily on Clara Carter, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Riley Ronald, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Ramona lost 16-4 to Steele Canyon on Tuesday.

Evie Brown made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Mt. Carmel's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-9. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Ramona, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-14-1.

Mt. Carmel skirted past Ramona 7-6 in their previous meeting back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Sundevils since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
