Softball Recap: North Kingstown Takes Down Ranked Portsmouth

North Kingstown faced Portsmouth in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Skippers walked away with an 11-7 win over the Patriots.

Amelia Fries was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Mia D'Andrea was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

North Kingstown's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Portsmouth, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-5.

Coming up, North Kingstown is taking a road trip to face off against Cranston West at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Portsmouth, they will be playing at home against West Warwick at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
