On Saturday, Thompson faced Curry in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Thompson Warriors fell just short of the Curry Yellowjackets by a score of 4-3. The Warriors' loss signaled the end of their 16-game winning streak.

Thompson's defeat dropped their record down to 18-2. As for Curry, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 14-1.
