Softball Recap: Clarkdale Finds Home Field Redemption Against Scott Central

There's no place like home for Clarkdale, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They blew past the Scott Central Rebels 13-1 on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won six matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Kaela Edmonds was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. That's the fewest earned runs she has allowed since back in February. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, Bella Castillo and Abby Mowery did most of the damage at the plate: Castillo scored two runs while going 2-for-2, while Mowery scored two runs while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave Mowery a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Mckenzie Lundy, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

The win got Clarkdale back to even at 9-9. As for Scott Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clarkdale will square off against Wayne County at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Scott Central, they will take on Bay Springs at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
