Everett and Stanwood are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2019, but likely not for long. The Seagulls will host the Spartans at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.

Everett is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Mount Vernon just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Seagulls have suffered since March 19, 2024.

Meanwhile, Stanwood faced Othello in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Spartans' pitcher stepped up to hand the Huskies an 8-0 shutout.

Not much got past Tanner Requa, who gave up just six hits to keep Othello off the board. Requa has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Connor Clifton, who went 2-for-3 with one home run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Gavin Gehrman was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Everett's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Stanwood, their victory bumped their record up to 10-1.

Everett couldn't quite get it done against Stanwood in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 as they fell 12-8. Can the Seagulls avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
