Baseball Game Preview: Eastern Ramblers vs. DC International Dragons

The Eastern Ramblers are taking a road trip to challenge the DC International Dragons at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Eastern is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.

Eastern is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of District of Columbia's top teams: Coolidge, who was ranked tenth at the time (Eastern was ranked fourth). The Ramblers blew past the Colts 9-3 on Friday. The Ramblers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.

Eastern got a big performance out of Aaron Williams, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-3. Williams is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Wesley Hanks was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-1.

Meanwhile, DC International posted their closest victory since March 10th on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Avalon 8-6. The victory was nothing new for the Dragons as they're now sitting on five straight.

Jose David English was excellent, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlos Ferman, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Eastern's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for DC International, their record now sits at 9-5.

DC International's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Eastern hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .358. It's a different story for DC International, though, as they've only averaged .243. Will they be able to contain Eastern's hitters?

Eastern came up short against DC International when the teams last played back in April of 2024, falling 5-0. Can the Ramblers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
