Football Recap: Ja'niah Tejeda and Chachi Saunders Lead the Defense for Seminole Ridge Win

Seminole Ridge won the last time they faced Bloomingdale, and Aubrey Fogel did her part to make sure it happened again. The Seminole Ridge Hawks strolled past the Bloomingdale Bulls with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 14-0 which was due in part to Fogel, who threw for 245 yards and two touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in rushing yards (24).

Seminole Ridge didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ja'Niah Tejeda and Chachi Saunders.

The win made it two in a row for Seminole Ridge and bumps their season record up to 7-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 3.5 points on average over those games. As for Bloomingdale, with the loss, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-2.

Coincidentally, Seminole Ridge and Bloomingdale will both be playing Western the next time they take the field. Bloomingdale will head out to face Western at 4:15 p.m. on Saturday, while Seminole Ridge will head out to face them at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
