Preview: Escambia County Blue Devils vs. T.R. Miller Tigers
Escambia County is 10-0 against T.R. Miller since December of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Escambia County Blue Devils' homestand continues as they prepare to take on the T.R. Miller Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Hopefully Escambia County is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than T.R. Miller in Alabama (Escambia County is ranked 158th, while T.R. Miller is ranked 317th).
Last Friday, Escambia County was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 48-44 to Jackson.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Stephen Williams, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds. Williams is absolutely dominating the block category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Lorenzo Arnold jr., who scored 13 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, T.R. Miller strolled past W.S. Neal with points to spare on Monday, taking the game 47-31. The win made it back-to-back wins for T.R. Miller.
Escambia County's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-7. As for T.R. Miller, their win bumped their record up to 8-10.
Escambia County was able to grind out a solid victory over T.R. Miller when the teams last played two weeks ago, winning 54-42. Does Escambia County have another victory up their sleeve, or will T.R. Miller turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
