Football Recap: Shiloh Christian Saints vs. Greenwood Bulldogs
Shiloh Christian and Greenwood squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Shiloh Christian had to settle for second. They lost 61-35 to the Greenwood Bulldogs. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Saints have suffered since December 2, 2023.
Shiloh Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jake Bodenstein, who threw for 404 yards and two touchdowns. Shiloh Christian is 8-2 when Bodenstein posts 250 or more passing yards, but 1-2 otherwise. Griffin Mason helped Bodenstein out on the ground, rushing for 65 yards and two touchdowns, while also picking up 56 receiving yards.
Kane Archer was his usual excellent self, rushing for 131 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.3 yards per carry, and also throwing for 321 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75.9% of his passes for Greenwood. Archer is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Grant Karnes was another key player, picking up 134 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
