Basketball Recap: Rancho Solano Prep Extends Winning Streak to Three

Rancho Solano Prep waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Phoenix Christian Cougars by a score of 45-35. This was payback for the Mustangs, who suffered a 71-8 loss the last time these two teams met.

Rancho Solano Prep's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nenah Brown, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 boards. The dominant performance also gave Brown a new career-high in blocks (four). Alexandra Mushahwar was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.

Rancho Solano Prep smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in nine consecutive games.

Rancho Solano Prep is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Phoenix Christian, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-6.

Meanwhile, Phoenix Christian (ranked 135th) will meet Fountain Hills (ranked 39th) at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
