Football Game Preview: DeKalb Tigers vs. Stewartsville Cardinals

The DeKalb Tigers will venture away from home to take on the Stewartsville Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. DeKalb comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

DeKalb is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Rock Port on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Tigers were beaten by the Blue Jays 70-6. The game was over by the end of the first half, with no points scored by either team from that point forward.

Meanwhile, Stewartsville scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They had to suffer through a 64-30 loss at the hands of South Holt. The Cardinals have struggled against the Knights recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

DeKalb's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Stewartsville, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 0-6.

Everything came up roses for DeKalb against Stewartsville in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, as the squad secured a 52-14 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
