Baseball Recap: Shadow Hills Takes a Loss

After flying high against Xavier Prep on Wednesday, Shadow Hills came back down to earth. The Knights fell 8-5 to the Brawley Wildcats on Thursday.

Shadow Hills saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Julian Briceno, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. That triple was Briceno's first of the season.

Shadow Hills has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season. As for Brawley, the victory got them back to even at 11-11.

Looking ahead, Shadow Hills will head out on the road to square off against Palm Desert at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Aztecs' pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so the Knights' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Brawley, they will welcome Imperial at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 6.1 runs per game this season.
