Baseball Recap: Capital's Luck Changes for the Better on Saturday

Capital had lost four games straight , but after bumping their record up to 3-11 on Saturday that streak is in the rearview. They were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Weir Red Riders. This was payback for the Cougars, who suffered a 7-3 defeat the last time these two teams met.

As for Weir, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. Their loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

For Weir's part, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Liam Williamson, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Capital has already played their next match, a 3-2 defeat against Clay County on the 21st. As for Weir, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 12-3 loss against Brooke on the 22nd.
