Volleyball Game Preview: Johnson City Eagles vs. Harper Longhorns

Johnson City has gone a perfect 10-0 against Harper recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Longhorns at 5:00 p.m. Johnson City will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

On Tuesday, Johnson City got the win against Center Point by a conclusive 3-0.

While Johnson City won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-21, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Harper didn't have quite enough to beat Sonora on Saturday and fell 3-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Longhorns in their meetings with the Broncos: they've now lost five in a row.

Harper wouldn't go down easily and took Sonora into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking nine-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 22-25, 26-28, 25-15, 15-6.

Harper's loss dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Johnson City, their win bumped their record up to 29-9.

Johnson City took their victory against Harper in their previous matchup two weeks ago by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
