Appomattox County has gone 8-1-1 against Dan River recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Raiders will square off against the Wildcats at 7:05 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Appomattox County is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over Floyd County. Winning may never get old, but the Raiders sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.

Isaac Records spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on seven hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Jack Wilkerson was incredible, going 1-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Ashton Stratton, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Dan River hadn't done well against Patrick County recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Wildcats were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Cougars. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wildcats considering their one-run performance the match before.

Appomattox County's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-6. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Dan River, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.

Appomattox County took their win against Dan River when the teams last played two weeks ago by a conclusive 12-3 score. Will the Raiders repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
