Baseball Recap: Laurel Comes Up Short

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Laurel's offense. They fell 4-0 to the Shenango Wildcats on Tuesday. The Spartans have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

Laurel's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Shenango, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Laurel will welcome Mercer at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season. As for Shenango, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against South Side at 4:00 p.m.
