Shawnee hadn't done well against Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Shawnee Redskins managed a 46-40 victory over Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 56-32 back in December of 2024.

That makes it three consecutive games in which Young has scored at least a third of Shawnee's points. Eva Ford was another key player, putting up ten points along with seven rebounds and five steals.

Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brylee Martin, who went 6 of 14 on her way to 16 points. Another player making a difference was Ashlyn Stayton, who posted eight points and 14 boards.

Shawnee's victory bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-18 record this season.
