Softball Game Preview: Midland Rebels vs. Lafayette Christian Academy Knights

The Midland Rebels are taking a road trip to take on the Lafayette Christian Academy Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Midland has given up an average of 13 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Midland is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 24 runs on Monday, they were much more limited against Westlake on Tuesday. They came up short against the Rams, falling 17-2.

Midland saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Harmonie Daigle, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI. Audrey Borill was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in both of her plate appearances.

While Lafayette Christian Academy didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against Welsh by a score of 8-5 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Knights.

Midland has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. Lafayette Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 9-4.
