Baseball Recap: Cripple Creek-Victor Comes Up Short

After soaring to 11 runs the game before, Cripple Creek-Victor was a bit more limited in their matchup on Saturday. They lost 13-2 to the Platte Canyon Huskies. If the Pioneers were looking for revenge after losing 18-0 to the Huskies when the teams met back in May of 2021, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Cripple Creek-Victor saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brandon Witt, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Cripple Creek-Victor dropped their record down to 1-3 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Platte Canyon, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Huskies beat Cripple Creek-Victor by a score of 19-7 later that day.
