Rich has gone 5-0 against Tintic recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Rich Rebels will face off against the Tintic Miners at 4:00 p.m. Rich will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.
Rich will head into Saturday's game hoping to keep the good times rolling: they had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 24-point drubbing they dealt Altamont on Saturday. Rich was the clear victor by a 59-35 margin over Altamont. The Rebels have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 20 points or more this season.
Paige Smith was nothing short of spectacular: she went 6 of 13 en route to 15 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Braylyn Pugmire, who went 6 for 9 on her way to 14 points and eight rebounds.
Rich smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 12 consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Tintic played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 53-27 to Manila. The Miners have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Rich will have to keep a close watch on Jordan Conder and Mariana Pena, a pair of players who had a big impact on Tintic's prior game. Conder posted eight points and five boards, while Pena earned six points along with six rebounds and four blocks.
Rich's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.5 points per game. As for Tintic, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Rich has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 32.1 boards per game. However, it's not like Tintic struggles in that department as they've been averaging 30.6 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
