Softball Recap: Foothill Tech Comes Up Short

San Marcos hit Foothill Tech with a four-run first inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Dragons lost 12-3 to the Royals. The defeat continues a trend for the Dragons in their meetings with the Royals: they've now lost four in a row.

Mackenzie Warren spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and ten unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Foothill Tech saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kyra Bouchard, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Another was Jocelyn Morales, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Foothill Tech now has a losing record of 9-10. As for San Marcos, their win bumped their record up to 14-11.

Looking ahead, Foothill Tech will challenge Carpinteria at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. San Marcos does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
