Baseball Game Preview: Crete-Monee Warriors vs. Kankakee Kays

For the second straight game, Crete-Monee will face off against Kankakee. The Warriors will venture away from home to take on the Kays at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Crete-Monee's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Kankakee 10-0. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won four games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Bren Milburn was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Crete-Monee is 2-1 when Milburn allows three or fewer hits, but 2-5 otherwise. Milburn was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last nine games he's played.

In other batting news, Timothy Gaddis and Anthony Monegan did most of the damage at the plate: Gaddis scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2, while Monegan scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. What's more, Gaddis posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. Keyshon James was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-2.

Crete-Monee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .519. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Crete-Monee's record now sits at 4-6. As for Kankakee, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 3-6.
