2A District 2 Top Player Performances of the Week

Congratulations to this week's top players! We're covering the best performances from Friday's football action (using all statistics entered as of the time of writing). Enjoy!

Jay Freeman Dazzles in Oak Grove Victory

Starting off the list is Oak Grove's Jay Freeman, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Freeman rushed for 83 yards and a touchdown on only five carries, and also picked up 38 receiving yards and a touchdown.

If the past is any indication, Freeman could be in store for another big game when he takes on Mangham on Friday. Back in November of 2023 (the last time Freeman saw the Dragons), he rushed for 174 yards on only 15 carries, and also picked up 35 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Bradley Came Up Big in Oak Grove's 57-12 Victory

Keeping Freeman company is Jackson Bradley, a fellow Oak Grove player. He threw for 134 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played dating back to last season.

Bradley and Oak Grove will venture away from home to challenge Mangham at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers got just the result they wanted when they last faced the Dragons, probably because Bradley had a solid game then too: he rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 103 yards on six of 13 attempts. Can he match (or beat) that performance?

While Robert Taylor delivered a dominant performance on Friday, a win just wasn't in the cards for Ferriday. Nobody could stop Taylor as he picked up 22 receiving yards.

The loss snapped Ferriday's winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 5-1 record. Taylor and Ferriday will welcome Madison at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Oak Grove Wins Fifth-Straight Thanks to Patrick Hill
