Preview: Mendon Hornets vs. Constantine Falcons
Having just played yesterday, the Mendon Hornets will head out on the road to face off against the Constantine Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on December 21st. Hopefully Mendon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Wednesday.
Mendon pushed their score all the way to 58, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 70-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Philip Catholic Central.
Despite their loss, Mendon saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Ryder Gorham, who scored 17 points, was perhaps the best of all. The match was Gorham's third in a row with at least ten points. Quincy Blair was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Constantine suffered a tough 58-36 defeat at the hands of Lawton on Tuesday. Constantine has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Mendon's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Constantine, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.
Mendon might still be hurting after the 48-26 loss they got from Constantine when the teams last played back in January of 2017. Can Mendon avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
